Grounded

There is something about the raw escape of a holiday that not so much brings you back with a bump, but anchors you back, grounds you back into the world in which you belong on your return. Something like the gap between the changed-as-good-as-move-out-of-them Egyptian Cotton sheets versus the sleep like the proverbial log first night back in your own bed, no matter how worn it might be. You cannot buy stuff like that - a sense of soul.

We are back from an adventure taking in a whole bunch of places, which I will try to find time to organise the better / non "holiday photo" types onto flickr as soon as I can. Many thanks to Cristian, Nedim, Jose, and Joseph for making us feel so welcome - without whose banter and care it would have been an entirely different experience - and on this particular occasion to the infirmary staff too! Thank you.

BLIMEY it is cold back here in Wales.

I hear it has been nothing but rain wind and cold for the two weeks we were away - but I return to find sleet on a car-park-stop driving home, and Snowdonia wearing a thick band of white on top. The desktop thermometer shows 4C, the sky is clear, the moon is full, and I wonder what the winter ahead has in store. There is nothing quite as comforting as indoors with a cosy drink watching a crisp cold or wet day through the separation of a window.

Right. Back. Loads to do with work, study, photos wedding/holiday - but MUST.... WILL make time for more timely updates. Promise.
