Step seven
"and remove" it said. Okay.
*rummage / wrench / heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeave.

Design. Some things work, some things don't. Some things are designed well, some things are designed well until you have to do something to them. The latter is apparently true of my scooter.
Following the Aprilia service manual I removed all 1 million screws and pried over catches to be left with a free floating leg guard that would not come off.
Of course, eventually it did (some considerable time later), and better still go back in about ten minutes - despite the continued efforts of my gathered audience of supporting nay-sayers.
HOWEVER - was the nut I was trying to work on VAST - hell yes. Was it larger than the 50mm reach of my huge 18" wrench. Alas yes. Who would have thought it. Too big by far. I thought I had reached the top of "comedy spanner" hierachy with headset spanners and matching adjustable wrench... but oh no.
It will have to wait for another day to stop the smallest of clunks. Add this to the wondrous design of a bleed nipple at the bottom of a calliper so bubbles will never ever surface to it - truly inspired thinking. Good job that it works well when you are not having to work on it!
